In a recent Next Level Life Training Workshop survey, we asked attendees a simple but revealing question:
If you could choose,
What are the must-have traits of a top producer in sales?
The responses were interesting – full of qualities and people skills we’d all admire.

But here’s the thing…
If that list were true, I wouldn’t be here today.
I had none of those traits when I got started. I’m what I call a functioning introvert. I can force myself to do whatever I need to – but only under three conditions:
It must be:
- True! Not half-true, or kind of true, but TRUE!
- Helpful. Something I would say to a member of my family
- Important. I refuse to make something up or try to guilt a customer into a sale. Integrity matters.
Introverts can be great at sales, too, but the approach and process must be authentic.
I found that truth and transparency are my two greatest allies – they help me lead both myself and the customer forward.
Apparently, I’m not the only one.

Meet Daisiah.
We met just before—or maybe just after—she earned her life license nearly seven years ago. Like me, she’s an introvert and wasn’t fond of the spotlight.
But instead of letting her stay in the background, I pushed her to come out and play. That’s what big brothers do. She thought I was crazy—fair enough—but that doesn’t make me wrong.

Being an introvert isn’t a disease, and it isn’t something you can wash away. It’s a part of who many of us are, but it can be managed.
Today, Daisiah is a leader in the agency and one of the anchors for the entire team. She’s still growing, and I’m very proud of her.
She had a magical May!
