First, the Promise

Meet agent Alyssa Holloway

She saw me speak at a conference and took the leap of faith to ask me to coach her team.

Now that you know the promise of 2023, let’s talk about the enemy she had to overcome.

 

Life isn’t a straight line, friends.

 

 

The Meltdown

 

*The team member who took off like a bottle rocket turned out to be an attitude problem with a negative influence on the team. Alyssa did what she didn’t want to do, but HAD to do for the team’s sake.

 

*Then, the 70K+ team member on her way to her best year ever decided to chase the shiny toy elsewhere. She’s more than likely dealing with a severe case of regret today.   The grass is rarely greener.  These are real-life body blows that would take the average team down.

All things work together – even the tough things,
but only if we’re open to the possibilities.

The Journey

 

  • It only appeared as if Alyssa was in trouble.  She’d already made a terrible decision by hiring some fool who insisted she’d be fine despite the drama.

  • She has a simple system in place, but as great as that is, you’ll need more than that to make it.  We talked about the importance of following the process and not the circumstances.

  • She was pushed further into production while bringing in new team members at the same time. However, she found the new process allowed her to plug the newbies into the system to help fast-track their development.

  • Then, Alyssa went to work using what she learned.  Now, she’s talking less and selling more for higher premiums.

 

The Victory

 

  • New team members like Shakira stepped in, picked up the process, and started landing on the Leaderboard.

 

  • According to the experts, the two toughest months to write life insurance are November and December.  That’s only true if you believe it. You’ll have to call more people –  but it’s doable.

 

  • In addition to showing up on the leaderboard throughout the year herself,  Alyssa wrote an 11K annual premium case in November.  The customer paid the entire annual premium upfront.

 

  • Then, the receptionist, Diana (new to the agency), used our process to pivot from a payment to speaking with a business owner about protecting their family.  Alyssa ran with it and wrote 6 policies in one household for over 40K in annual premium in December!

 

 

Me:  Was it difficult?

Alyssa:  No, it was easy!

 

What a story!

Discouragement can overwhelm anyone in these circumstances.  However, the ability to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat can only happen with the power of endurance.   She stayed the course.

 

 

The struggle is necessary! 

Alyssa became an even stronger leader this year.  I’m not sure that would’ve happened so quickly without the chaos forcing her hand.   Winning is hard, and it’s only for the few willing to do the work and endure the circumstances.

She doesn’t have a large group, but they get it done!  In spite of all the drama, 2023 turned out to be their best year ever!

Some teams have Tik-Tok-itis.   They have a great year and then chase a shiny toy elsewhere.  Not Alyssa; apparently, she isn’t tired of us yet.  She’s moved up to our Platinum series and kicked off the first week of January with 7 policies for $5,400 in annual premium.  I think we’ve created a monster.
